Review: Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer (에뛰드 하우스 프루프10 아이 프라이머)

[NOW PLAYING: T-ara - Number 9]

Hello everybody! I finally got time to make another review post, and I know this one was due quite a while back. But the more times I use it, the more in-depth the review will be, right?

I wanted to try something different so every time I post something up, I'll include the songs I listened to while writing! Cute eh?

Anyways, on to the Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer. I bought this during my Hong Kong trip at one of their Mongkok stores because I've heard wonderful reviews on this. I've seen people claim this to be the dupe for Urban Decay's Primer potion, but I haven't tried that so I can't compare.

What is it?

The secret to long-lasting and vibrant eyeshadow that just won't quit, Proof 10 Eye Primer is designed to prevent eyeshadow from creasing and smudging, ensuring that eye makeup stays flawless even hours after application. Velvety soft formula easily glides on lid, instantly blending to provide a perfect base for eyeshadow to adhere on.

  • Proof 10 eye primer supplies coverage to eyelids and around the eye to enhance eye shadow color.
  • Integrity for a longer lasting, perfect 10 look.

  • How to use:

  • Use fingers to gently apply primer to upper and lower eyelids prior to eye shadow application.
  • Also applicable to eye lines prior to eyeliner application.
  • Pack Size - 10g/0.35oz
  •  taken from yesstyle

I really like the packaging. Though the handle is quite long. The eye primer is made of plastic so fear not when you are prone to dropping your products! The handle had a blue metallic sheen and the writing is in blue. I like the blue colour scheme for Etude House's Proof 10 products (I've reviewed their range on my blog!) To me, the amount of product is sufficient but I was surprised by how small it was when I picked it up at the Etude House branch. It's very hard to see how much product you have left without actually opening the top and peering inside.

The primer feels and looks slightly thick but it blends easily. The warmth from your skin melts the primer down into a liquid consistency. It dries extremely quickly.

I have been using this primer for a few months now and I really like it. There is a huge difference in the lasting power of my eye makeup when I use this and when I don't. I find that after a 8 hour day, my eyeshadow still looks great, with only small signs of smudging due to my eyeliner. This is incorporated into my daily makeup routine.

Even though I have used this for months, there is still a lot of product left, from what I can see anyways!

The first few times I used this, I found that I applied too much and my primed area gave a very cakey look. One light swipe is all you need to prime your entire eye area including your brow bone! You don't need a lot of product for it to work well.

The colours seem more vibrant as well! This is a lovely product and it only retails for around US$8! I won't be trying to Urban Decay Primer Potion anytime soon because this fulfils it's duties well.

It had no scent and dries matte. So you don't need to wait long for the product to sink in. The actual colour of the product is beige, looking very much like a light skin tone bb cream.

In the below picture, you can distinctly see the different in colour between the primed and unprimed areas.

The Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer deserves a 5/5! It works extremely well as an eye primer for an affordable price. Definitely check this out!
